Join us for the Grocery Girls Hometown Retreat from October 30 – November 2, 2025, a cozy and creative getaway filled with knitting, laughter, and community.
We are so excited to welcome four very special guest instructors, Kim McBrien Evans, Susan Chin, Kim Heron and Deanne Underwood.
Every attendee will explore round yoke sweaters and how to get the best fit for our bodies with Kim McBrien Evans, Brioche: a comprehensive class for both beginner and intermediate knitters (including how to fix mistakes) with Susan Chin, and create our own needle felted woolly landscape work of art from both Kim Heron & Deanne Underwood.
This weekend is about connecting with fellow makers who understand the joy of creating together. Spending time in a cozy escape with the chance to relax, recharge and be part of a welcoming creative group.
Expect inspiring workshops, laughter filled meals & social evenings, a private event at Statement Junkie yarn shop, and the kind of connections that only happen when makers get together.

Designer, indie dyer, and fit revolutionary.
Kim is known for turning abstract ideas into color-rich handknit masterpieces—and for reshaping the way we think about sweater sizing and fit. She’s changing the industry with her inclusive measurement charts and passion for honoring every body.
Class: Make Yokes Fit YOU
Circular yoke sweaters are stunning—but they don’t always fit the way we want. In this class, Kim will teach you how to adjust yokes to suit your body using your measurements, shaping methods, and ease preferences. You’ll leave with a personalized “yoke map” and all the confidence to tackle your next sweater project.
Brioche queen and knitting machine wizard.
Susan brings her deep understanding of brioche stitch (on both machines and needles!) to this beginner-friendly workshop that’s perfect for knitters ready to explore the bouncy, beautiful world of brioche.
Class: Introduction to Brioche
Learn the basics of 1x1 brioche in one and two colors. You’ll knit a sampler, explore needle size tips, and gain insight into the structure of this squishy stitch. Whether you’re a first-timer or looking to brush up your skills, you’ll walk away inspired—and just maybe, a little obsessed.
